Community Service Begins at Home

Inspired by her family, her community, her island home and most notably her mentors, service to others is a guiding principal in Candes' life. She is known for always going the extra mile to put a smile on people's faces.  Having served as an example of heart, health and happiness whether it be as a volunteer at her son's schools, at sporting events, as an Official State Hostess or for her local community theatre, Candes is steadfast in her commitment to service above self.  She is always eager to lend a helping hand and loves to create memorable experiences by hosting and coordinating events for the non-profit organizations she supports. Click on links below to learn more about the Candes Meijide Gentry Endowed Scholarship at the Shidler College of Business, the Candes Meijide Gentry Performing Arts Scholarship at Miss Hawai'i, and the Punahou School Endowed Financial Aid. With access to education as her driving motivation, Candes plans to continue her philanthropic efforts with a focus on the Eat Pono principles of Source Locally, Eat Nutritiously, and Live Sustainably.
